Root Canal
Gentle, thorough endodontic care that saves teeth, relieves pain, and keeps your natural smile intact.
Root canal treatment carries a reputation it no longer deserves. Under a microscope, with proper anaesthetic, it is a quiet appointment that ends pain rather than causing it.

Microscope-guided
The canals inside a tooth are narrow, curved and easy to miss by eye. Working under high magnification lets us find and clean the full anatomy, which is the single biggest factor in whether the treatment holds for decades.
Comfort first
You are fully numb before we start and we check that with you, not at you. Appointments are paced with breaks, and you set the rhythm. Most people are surprised by how ordinary it feels.
How it goes, step by step.
Diagnosis and imaging
Testing and a focused x-ray establish which tooth is involved and what is happening at the root.
Anaesthetic and isolation
Full anaesthetic, then a soft barrier keeps the tooth clean and dry and keeps everything out of your mouth.
Cleaning and shaping
The canals are cleaned, disinfected and shaped under the microscope, gently and without rushing.
Sealing and restoring
The canals are sealed, and the tooth is rebuilt so it can take a normal bite again.
Questions we are asked.
The appointment itself should not. The pain people associate with root canals is the infection that brings them in, and treatment is what removes it. Some tenderness for a few days afterwards is normal and settles quickly.
Simpler on the day, more complicated afterwards. Nothing replaces a natural root as well as the root you have. We only recommend removal when the tooth genuinely cannot be restored.
A treated tooth is more brittle, so it usually needs a crown or a substantial restoration to protect it. We plan that at the same time rather than leaving it to chance.
Talk it through before you decide anything.
A first consultation is a conversation, not a commitment. We will tell you what we would do, what it costs, and what happens if you do nothing at all.
