Teeth Whitening

Safe, even brightening with a measured plan, so the result looks like you on a very good day.

Whitening done well is barely noticeable as a procedure and very noticeable as a result. The target is your own enamel at its best, not a shade that announces itself.

Duration
2 to 3 weeks
Typical change
4 to 6 shades
Sensitivity
Managed with desensitising gel
Top-up
A few nights, about once a year

Measured, not maximal

We record your starting shade in daylight and agree an end point before we begin. Going further than that is where whitening starts to look artificial, so we stop where the result still reads as natural.

Kind to enamel

Whitening gel works by lifting stain out of the tooth, not by stripping the surface. Used at the right concentration, with trays that keep gel off the gum, it does not soften or thin enamel. Sensitivity, when it appears, is temporary and manageable.

How it goes, step by step.

01

Shade record and health check

We check that the gums and any existing fillings are sound, then photograph and record the current shade.

02

Custom trays

Thin trays are made to your scan so the gel sits on the teeth and nowhere else.

03

Guided at-home phase

Short daily wear over two to three weeks, at a strength chosen for your sensitivity rather than a standard dose.

04

Review

We compare against the starting photograph, even out anything that lagged behind, and set a top-up rhythm.

Questions we are asked.

Not at the concentrations and wear times we use. The gel oxidises stain within the tooth rather than removing surface material. The main side effect is short-lived sensitivity.

No. Ceramic does not change shade. If you have restorations at the front, we whiten first, then match any replacements to the new shade, which is why the order matters.

Usually a year or more, depending on coffee, tea, red wine and smoking. A short top-up with your existing trays brings it straight back.

Talk it through before you decide anything.

A first consultation is a conversation, not a commitment. We will tell you what we would do, what it costs, and what happens if you do nothing at all.
